Custom Furniture Seating for the new Palmerston Hospital in Darwin
The Palmerston Hospital is the Northern Territory’s first new public hospital in over 40 years. With a cost of around $170 million, the new, state of the art facility will open it’s doors in the coming months, with an aim to provide better health care to Territorians.
Terrain Group was approached to design, supply and install a custom furniture seating solution for the exterior of the building, with an aim to suit the arcade area and match the wood appearance of the interior of the hospital. As with many custom furniture jobs, Terrain supplied shop drawings, visual image mock ups and timber samples for the furniture, ensuring that the client would be well involved in the process to ensure customer satisfaction.
Being such a significant building project, there were very tight delivery deadlines for the product, however, we ensured these deadlines were met without compromise to the product’s quality or the service provided.
The product created was a moveable pod seat with anodised aluminium frame, featuring timber slats made from Victorian Ash with a Wattyl Weatherguard natural oil finish, for protection. The fixings are all 316 stainless steel as is the case with all of Terrain’s products.
Terrain Group specialises in customising furniture for our clients, whether it be tailoring existing designs to suit a more specific design, or an entirely new design for the ultimate unique piece.
