Coast Park rolls ahead as City of Onkaparinga deliver Foreshore Access Plan

Coast Park is an initiative by the State Government to develop a linear park along the Adelaide coast line, extending from North Haven to Sellicks Beach. The project is a priority project for Greater Adelaide’s 30 Year Plan, and 31km of the Coast Park exists within the City of Onkaparinga area.
The Foreshore Access Plan is a staged approach to creating Coast Park within the City of Onkaparinga, in partnership with the State Government of South Australia.

The project will see outdoor facilities, including cycle and walking paths, shelters, barbecues, seating and picnic settings to encourage more use of the coastal regions of Adelaide. Terrain Group has been working in conjunction with Blubuilt, the principle contractor for the project, to bring shelters, table settings and seating to fruition.

In the City of Onkaparinga area, four Capricorn Shelters have been erected, constructed with our high quality anodised aluminium components. Perfect for coastal regions, anodised aluminium shelters resist corrosion, vandalism and other environmental factors better than any other. Colorbond roofing provides a high quality and long lasting cover, while our use of 316 Stainless Steel Anti-Vandal fixings as standard, ensures these structures will not only continue to look great, but they’ll stay strong and true, no matter what our harsh coastal environment throws at them.

Each of the picnic areas along the Coast Park are fitted with the impressive Daintree Table Setting as well as a number of Courtyard Seats along the pathways to provide ample seating and picnic facilities for cyclists, walkers, beach goers and families.

Blubuilt has done a fantastic job of bringing the project to life, working with designs by architect GHD Adelaide. Terrain was able to offer our experience and guidance with regard to footings and installation techniques to ensure all of our products not only meet our own quality standards, in terms of installation, but also those of the community.
